The readers are AI
Every reader is an AI persona, not a human editor or sensitivity reader. Feedback is subjective and can be mistaken or incomplete. It does not certify accuracy, representation, publication readiness, sales potential, or legal clearance. You decide which suggestions belong in your writing.
Your book stays yours
You keep your rights to your manuscript. You give us permission to store and process it with the providers described in our privacy policy, generate feedback, and show that feedback to you. We do not claim ownership of your manuscript. Keep your own copy of your work.
You must be an adult and have permission to upload the material. Do not upload material that is illegal to possess or distribute, interfere with the service, or create accounts to evade usage limits. We may restrict accounts or remove material for abuse, security concerns, or violations of these terms.
Free reads and report access
Each account can start one Iris read per calendar month, resetting on the first day at 00:00 UTC. New books and revised drafts share this allowance, including drafts of unlocked books. Retrying the same interrupted read does not spend another read. Unused reads do not roll over; deleting a book does not restore a read. Paid additional readers and earned invitation credits are separate. You can add readers to existing drafts after reaching the cap; uploading a new book or draft waits until the next month.
Iris reads the full manuscript. Her summary letter and selected feedback are free. A one-time payment of 99¢ USD opens her full report for that book, including future drafts within the reading allowance. This purchase unlocks feedback; it does not buy unlimited new reads. Books that already had full-report access before the 99¢ unlock was introduced keep it, including future drafts within the monthly allowance. A paid panel also includes full Iris report access for that book.
Manuscripts currently have a 50 MB upload limit and a 500,000-word limit. Reading time varies with length and service demand.
Panels and subscriptions
Reader panels are one-time purchases for the selected draft. The panel size, readers, and price are shown before Stripe Checkout. New drafts do not automatically include another paid panel.
Follow-up conversations cost $10 USD per month and include up to 100 questions per billing period. This subscription renews automatically until canceled. Active subscribers also have full-report access while their subscription remains active. One-time book unlocks remain available after cancellation.
Use Manage billing on the help page to cancel through Stripe. The portal shows when cancellation takes effect and access ends. Deleting a book does not cancel a subscription. Checkout shows the final amount before you pay.
Payments and refunds
Payments are processed by Stripe for The Computer Plumbers. One-time payments use the NOMDEPLUME statement suffix alongside the account’s bank-statement prefix. Access is granted when Stripe confirms payment.
If you were charged twice or a paid feature does not deliver what you bought, contact seth@thecomputerplumbers.com with your receipt. We will investigate, help restore access, and refund duplicate charges or purchases we cannot fulfill through the original payment method. Other refund requests are reviewed individually. These terms do not limit refund or consumer rights that apply by law.
Service availability and changes
We work to keep your reads available, but cannot promise uninterrupted service, a fixed completion time, or a particular response from an AI reader. Prices and limits for future use may change with notice through the service; changes do not create an additional charge without your authorization. For account, billing, or service concerns, contact support.
